Life Time Books series
spring 2009 | book | 4.25" x 7"

This is a proposed set of books that tell the story of a given number of years, through a corresponding number of topics—the “Life Time Books” series. The idea is that *as* you gain more years (and thus more experience) you will have more stories to tell. A set would contain a general book of the years, and then a free choice of topics for the remaining volumes.

The sample shown above is 34 Years of Gluttony. Inside the story goes: Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving, etc., etc., and, my entire freshman year of college.

The contents of these small books are personal histories and therefore banal topics are most comfortable. Some volumes will tell recurring stories, while others might frame a singular incident. The books are not meant to be “read” page by page from cover to cover. The meaning of the history offered in each book does not necessarily require knowledge of specific dates. The emphasis is on the word “historia”—“a collection, or recollection, of occurrences.”
